Would love if guilty gear had an anime series. Played 2002 ggx2 in the mid 2000s. I still remember playing this game with friends competing as to who would have the longest win streak haha.

still remember how hardcore the very first one was( still have the disk). hitting the instant kills(destroyer) would make one win the entire fight, not just one round and even the A.I. would try to pull them off on you as a counter move. to make it even more hardcore, all characters would have not one, but two health bars and as soon as the first one is depleted, they would be able to use infinite overdrives (supers), regardless whatever the gauge shows. too bad the roster was a bit small and the only 3 unlockable characters(Testament, Justice and Baiken) could only be used in VS and training modes, no story mode for them.

As a lifelong Street Fighter player I've always envied the sprite quality of Guilty Gear.

So I've never played GG before and just got into FGC games in the last year or so. But this game alone has made me decide it to switch from Xbox to PS. Specifically what drew me in was how unbelievably sick Faust and Ram look, character design wise. So stoked

You will not regret it fam Xrd 2 rev is a little dead but with strive on the corner there is going to be a whole new playerbase P.D: if you have a decent computer (not good, not bad, just normal) try getting XX accent core +R, theres a lot of new players and people learning the game and its great
The GBA port always disappointed me a tad bit because the handheld was more than capable of outputting better sounding music when all we got instead was 8-bit chiptune. Not that there's anything inherently wrong with it but it set the game back by a generation IMO.
I love how characters in Guilty Gear noticeable change and develop throughout each game.

Ok so I'm confused. So I just started playing guilty gear xrd rev2 getting ready for strive to come out. One question I have is I thought this was a fighting game series. What with the other games (that wasn't fighting games)?

Well this isn't really the first time a game has changed genres in a series from the norm. Mario games ranging from platformers to rpgs. Sonic games having a few racing games and its own fighter. It does happen.
